DFW Hawks Coaching Staff

The DFW Hawks are led by a stellar group of coaches, all with amazing accomplishments and trophy cases that would make any young athlete envious.  We strive to keep the goals of our athletes lofty, and we believe that having coaches that have “Walked The Walk” gives our athletes the extra motivation they need to achieve their own dreams.

Derelle King is entering his 7th year of coaching and elite training for select basketball. He is currently the President and Director of the DFW Hawks basketball club. Derelle graduated and lettered all 4 years at Irving High School, recieved all district honors and went on to play at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Tx. Coach King has a wealth of knowledge and experience from working at various camps across the state. He has coached the Opportunity for Youth Camp, Gannon Baker Camp and Midwestern State Basketball Camp. Derelle has also helped train elite athletes who have gone on to play college/division I basketball, Kamy Cole(TCU), Ben Hill(UNT), and he continues to work daily with athletes who are wanting to take their game to the next level.  Coach King wanted to start his own basketball club with the idea of helping kids with the talent and desire to play select basketball and to also make it affordable to play. With the qualifications and experience of our coaching staff we feel without a doubt that we have what it takes to help your child maximize his or her full potential!

He is married to the love of his life, Kenzie King.  They have three children, Asya(13), Kolby(6) and Maddux (3) and they will welcome the arrival of Carter Dontece in June of 2018.  They reside in Brock, Texas.   He enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball,  and has an extreme passion for music.

Kenzie  King is in her 8th year of coaching.  She has coached at the varsity, jr varsity and freshman level.  She is currently the  Vice President of the DFW Hawks Basketball Club and is focusing her career path in eductional administration.  Coach King has coached in Birdville ISD, Northwest ISD and Grand Prairie ISD and is currently coaching and teaching in Brock ISD.  She has worked with and coached with some of the most talented coaches in the state.  She was a standout high school player and earned a Division I basketball scholarship to Oklahoma State University and Southern Methodist University.  She finished her high school career with two state championships at Brock High School.  She was awarded the MVP award in both state tournaments.  She was selected as an All-State point guard all four years at Brock High School and is one of only a few Texas High School women’s basketball players to achieve this honor.  She lettered in basketball, tennis, cross country and track while at Brock High School and was a state competitor in tennis and cross country as well.  She earned her degree from Southern Methodist University in 2007.  She has coached in several camps, including the Rolando Blackman Camp, TABC Camp, OSU Camp and SMU Camp.  She is continually attending workshops and clinics to improve her passion.
She is married to her amazing husband, Derelle King.  They have three children, Asya (13), Kolby (6) and Maddux (3) and they will welcome the arrival of Carter Dontece June of 2018.  They reside in Brock, Texas.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.   
Krystal Harrison– 
krystalKrystal Harrison is new to the DFW Hawks this spring. She has been around basketball her whole life. She graduated from Brock High School in 2005 where she was a four year starter and helped her team win three state championships. She was selected as the State Tournament MVP her senior year and was also selected as an All-State guard/forward all four years. She continued her basketball career by earning a Division I basketball scholarship to Texas Tech University where she played one year under legendary coach, Marsha Sharp. Krystal transferred to Tarleton State University to finish her collegiate career. While at Tarleton she was a two year starter and leading scorer. She was named the Offensive MVP, the Lonestar Conference Newcomer of the Year and was selected to the All-Conference team and All-Conference Academic team both seasons with the TexAnns. She earned her bachelor degree in Exercise and Sports Management with a Business minor in 2008.

            Krystal and her husband, Kendall Harrison, live in Brock, Texas with their three children, Brayden (8), Skylar (7), and Harper (5). She is currently a kindergarten teacher at Brock Elementary.   She previously spent four years (2008-20012) at Aledo Middle School as the head girl’s basketball coach. She is passionate about the game of basketball and loves helping players grow and understand the mental and physical aspects of the game.

Trey Manning

Trey Manning is entering his first year with the HAWKS this season. He has played professional basketball overseas in FINLAND for Aanekoski Huima, received all-import and all league honors(22ppg 5.5apg)Prior to playing overseas, Trey played his collegiate basketball career at Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, TX and at Texas College in Tyler, TX .Also receiving all conference awards, mvps and was ranked nationally in four categories (total assists(1st), assists per game(1st), assists to turnover ratio(1st) and 3pt field goal percentage(19th). Trey also lettered 2 years at MacArthur high school in Irving, Tx receiving all district and all city honors.
        He has one child, Treylon Jr(10). Trey  enjoys spending time with his son, listening to music and almost anything that has something to do with BASKETBALL. Received his associates degree in science from Southwestern Christian College in 2006.

Brylan Madderra
Brylan Madderra is entering his 2nd year with DFW Hawks after a successfull season with the Varsity Boys squad last year. With only one Senior on the team, the DFW Hawks Varsity Team was able to win or place in several tournaments as well as punch their ticket to Nationals. That one Senior was able to transition to the next level and is now playing college basketball for Midwestern State University. Although “Coach B” played college baseball at Mid-America Bible College, his true passion is basketball. He has coached AAU basketball for 6 seasons as either a head coach or assistant coach. He spent 3 years with Lake Country Christian School in Fort Worth, as Head JV Boys Basketball Coach and Assistant Varsity Boys Basketball Coach. His coaching philosphies demand non stop energy and effort from his players as well as discipline on and off the court. He likes to run a read and react offense, with high pick and roll sets, as well as a suffocating full court press.  He is married with two kids, ages 8 and 4. He enjoys coaching, horse racing, playing all sports, and spending time with his family.
